This formula is meant to help moisten skin from the inside out and is most beneficial to drink during the dry Fall and Winter Seasons.
Ingredients:
- 4 pears (Organic Asian Pears are best. But any pear will do.)
- 6 carrots
- 2 thumb size pieces of fresh ginger root
- 9 grams of Licorice Root
- Raw Honey
Cut up the pears, carrots, and ginger root into manageable pieces. Add pears, carrots, and ginger to a large pot with 6.5 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium. Simmer uncovered for 20 minutes. After 20 min, strain the liquid into a container. Add raw honey to taste.
Yields: approximately 3 servings
Drink 1-2 cups daily for 3-6 days
Store in a closed container in the refrigerator. If unused after 3 days, discard and dispose the batch.
This tonic only needs to be taken for 6 days at a time. This should be sufficient to return your skin to its optimal moisture level. It is recommended to take this formula once per month during the Fall and Winter retain your luster and radiance.

- Honey – Enters the Lung, Spleen, Large Intestine. Supplements the Center. Moistens Dryness. Relaxes tension. Resolves toxins. Helps constipation.
The ingredients, especially Pear, contain vitamins, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatories that give your skin a boost. It moisturizes and will help plump the skin, reducing the look of wrinkles.
On a bonus side, unlike most TCM herbal formulas, it tastes yummy!
This formula can be easily made at home. The only ingredient that might difficult to find is licorice root. However, it can often be found at places like Vitamin Cottage, Whole Foods, and local herbal apothecaries. And if you can’t find it anywhere, I can get it for you. All you have to do is ask!
